Dr. Schumacher

Dr. Schumacher has been a member of the Jacksonville community since 1995.  He met his wife of 22 years at the University of Florida – both graduates of the class of 1984.  Together they are raising twins Anna and Austin (12) and Alex (10). After establishing his dental practice in Boca Raton, FL, family was a strong part of his decision to move to Jacksonville.  They enjoy fishing, sailing, school and church activities.

In addition to establishing his Family and Cosmetic Dentistry practice, Dr. Schumacher teaches part time at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry.  Helping to mentor and support more dedicated dentists for the future.

While taking continuing education courses from many of the pioneers in restorative dentistry, Dr. Schumacher developed his keen interest in TMJ (bite disease) and facial pain.  To Dr. Schumacher great dentistry is about both art and function.

“Makeovers do not have to be extreme, they can be so subtle that only the patient knows the difference.  Our goal is to create a result that can also last and work well for the patient.”

For Dr. Schumacher it’s about getting to know his patients, allowing them the opportunity to know him and together developing a plan for a lifetime of great dental health.

Welcoming you, will be Dr. Schumacher’s team – Hygienists Michelle, Barbara and Tamatha, Expanded Duties Assistants Kathy and Shirleen, and Office Mgr Cindy (not pictured).  This team has more than 100 years combined experience!  Longevity is something rarely seen in many offices -they have been with Dr. Schumacher for 3-11 yrs!

Beyond staying current with the technical aspect of dentistry with their continuing education, this dedicated team also places importance in their communication skills and celebration skills.  The entire team is committed to helping their patients have the most comfortable and relaxed appointment possible.  Listening to learn what is important to the patient is essential to their time with you.
